There’s something that happens on Instagram every October. It’s called “Inktober.” It was started by someone named Jake Parker who simply wanted to unite people in drawing every day in the month of October. Each year, he publishes a list of single-word prompts, one for each day. Then people create drawings inspired by the prompts and post them. Last year I participated for a few days before sputtering out. It was roughly when my “Draw Every Day” ambitions for 2018 also collapsed (it was still a good year of drawing). This year I’m already doing better. Here is the first week-and-a-half of my Inktober:
